(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1600 GMT on Sunday:

* LATIFIYA - A roadside bomb struck an Iraqi Army patrol killing one solider and wounding two others, police said.

* SALAHUDDIN PROVINCE - U.S. forces said that they had killed eight insurgents in helicopter strike on August 9 in Salahuddin Province north of Baghdad.

BAGHDAD - Four American soldiers were killed and four others wounded in explosion during combat operations south of Baghdad on Saturday, the U.S. military said.

BAGHDAD - One American soldier was killed by small arms fire southeast of Baghdad on Saturday, the U.S. military said.

DAQUQ - Insurgents killed one civilian and wounded two others in a drive-by shooting in Daquq about 200 km (125 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

DAQUQ - Insurgents opened fire on a police patrol, killing three policemen and wounding two others in Daquq, police said.

HAWIJA - One Iraqi soldier was killed when insurgents opened fire in Hawija 70 km (43 miles) southwest of northern Kirkuk, police said.

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi army said it had killed seven insurgents and arrested 70 others in the last 24 hours in Iraq.

* BAGHDAD - U.S. forces said they arrested 46 suspects during operations against al-Qaeda in Iraq. They include 17 suspects arrested in Karmah on the western outskirts of Baghdad who were accused of links to car bombs, including some attacks using chlorine gas. Sixteen were arrested in Sinjar in northern Iraq near the Syrian border. Others were held in Baghdad, Mosul, Tarmiyah, Samarra and Tikrit.
