LONDON (Reuters) - Two British soldiers were killed and two others were seriously injured on Saturday in the southern Afghan province of Helmand, the Ministry of Defence said.

The soldiers were taking part in a pre-dawn operation to disrupt the Taliban when their patrol came under attack.

A number of Taliban were also killed in the clash, the ministry said. The injured British soldiers were airlifted out by helicopter. No further details were released.
