FRANKFURT, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Siemens (SIEGn.DE) named Peter Solmssen to its management board on Wednesday as head of legal and compliance issues as the German engineering group tries to resolve a series of corruption allegations.

Solmssen, 52, joins on Oct. 1 from British-based GE Healthcare, it said in a statement. It also named Andreas Pohlmann chief compliance officer. Pohlmanm had been chief administrative officer at Celanese Corp (CE.N).
