Navistar unit says UAW breaks talks
DETROIT Oct 4 (Reuters) - International Truck and Engine Corp., a unit of Navistar International Corp. NAVZ.PK, said on Thursday that the United Auto Workers union has chosen to break off talks to review the company's proposals.
"We are disappointed in the union's decision to break because timely resolution of these issues is critical to our union plants," said Jeff Bowen, vice president, human resources, International Truck and Engine.
The company and the union have engaged in various periods of negotiations for the past two years, International Truck and Engine said.
UAW-represented employees have continued to work without a contract since the prior contracts expired Oct. 1, the company said.
