MOSCOW Feb 6 (Reuters) - The Russian shareholders of oil firm TNK-BP, half owned by BP Plc (BP.L), said on Wednesday in a rare joint statement they had no plans to sell their stakes despite speculation they would do so soon.

"All talk about a planned sale of the Russian share in TNK-BP is wrong. AAR did not hold, is not holding and has no plans to hold any talks about the sale of its share in TNK-BP with either Russian or foreign companies," the statement said.

AAR stands for Alfa-Access-Renova, which owns 50 percent in TNK-BP, and represents the interest of billionaire businessmen Mikhail Fridman, Viktor Vekselberg, Len Blavatnik and a few others. (Reporting by Dmitry Zhdannikov; editing by Guy Faulconbridge)
