(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 7:30 a.m. BST on Saturday.

JAZEERA DESERT - Iraqi soldiers advised by U.S. Special Forces killed two gunmen during an operation in the Jazeera Desert. One Iraqi soldier died in the firefight, the U.S. military said.

HATRA - Armed men attacked a police car on Friday in Hatra, south of Mosul, killing two policemen.

MOSUL - A man and a woman were killed in a drive-by shooting in the southeast of Mosul on Friday.

BAGHDAD - Five militants were killed and three Iraqi soldiers wounded in an exchange of fire at an Iraqi army checkpoint on the northern outskirts of Baghdad on Friday, police said. Passengers opened fire against soldiers searching a vehicle who discovered weapons inside it. The soldiers responded, killing the five passengers.

NORTHERN IRAQ - Turkish warplanes bombed northern Iraq on Friday, Turkish military sources said. PKK Kurdish guerrillas said no one was hurt.

ISKANDARIYA - Eight guards were wounded in a blast and fire on Friday at a fuel pipeline near Iskandariya, south of Baghdad. Iraqi police said the blast was caused by a bomb. U.S. forces said it was caused by technicians.
