FACTBOX-Security developments in Iraq, May 26
(Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 7:15 p.m. British time on Monday:
BAGHDAD - One Iraqi soldier was killed and eight others wounded when a car bomb hit their army patrol in Hurriya district, northwest Baghdad.
MOSUL- The body of a prison warden was found with bullets in the head and chest in Mosul, 390 km (240 miles), north of Baghdad, police said.
MOSUL - Security forces arrested three al Qaeda leaders in east Mosul, the Interior Ministry spokesman said.
BAGHDAD - A roadside bomb wounded five people on the airport highway, in western Baghdad, police said.
BAGHDAD - A bomb blast wounded two people in Shaab district, northern Baghdad, police said.
MOSUL - A grenade tossed at a police patrol wounded eight people, including one policeman, in central Mosul, police said.
TARMIYA - A suicide bomber on a motorcycle killed at least six members of a U.S.-backed neighbourhood patrol and wounded 18 in the town of Tarmiya, just north of Baghdad, police said.
SALAHUDDIN PROVINCE - One U.S. soldier died as a result of wounds sustained in a roadside bomb blast in Salahuddin Province, the U.S. military said. Two other soldiers were wounded.
AL-SHAMIYA - One U.S. soldier was killed and two wounded on Sunday when their patrol was hit by a roadside bomb in the town of al-Shamiya, 180 km (95 miles) south of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.
TAZA - An ambulance driver and a policeman were wounded on Sunday when a roadside bomb exploded near an ambulance close to the town of Taza, 220 km (130 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.
