LONDON (Reuters) - A British soldier was killed and two were wounded in a suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday.

The attack happened in Kabul on Monday, when the attacker rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into a patrol as it was moving through the capital.

The death raises the number of British troops killed in Afghanistan to 115 since it joined the U.S.-led invasion of the country in late 2001.

Britain has a small contingent of soldiers in Kabul, but most of the 8,000-strong deployment in Afghanistan is based in Helmand, a southern province that has been the focus of intense fighting with the Taliban.
