LONDON, March 2 (Reuters) - The stock of silver held by the iShares Silver Trust (SLV), the largest silver-backed exchange traded fund listed in New York, fell for the first time since Jan. 5 on Friday, the fund said.

The trust's holdings slipped 122.7 tonnes to 8,057.8 tonnes from a record $8,180.46 tonnes the day before, it said.

Buying of the white metal by ETFs has been a key factor supporting demand, analysts said. (Reporting by Jan Harvey; editing by James Jukwey)
