Excelerate to offload LNG to Boston after 3-month delay
NEW YORK, April 21 |
NEW YORK, April 21 (Reuters) - Algonquin Gas Transmission's Hubline gas pipeline in Massachusetts has returned to service, the company said in a notice on Monday, allowing gas to flow from the Northeast Gateway LNG terminal offshore Boston.
A blockage in the pipeline had prevented a liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker from offloading its cargo at the terminal where it has been anchored since Jan. 14.
Excelerate Energy's Explorer LNG tanker is expected to offload regasified LNG into the system on Tuesday, more than three months after its scheduled offload.
"The nominations posted today show that 120,000 dekatherms is scheduled for flow from Explorer into HubLine," said Pan EurAsian Enterprises analysts in a note Tuesday.
Excelerate, which is 50 percent owned by Germany's RWE (RWEG.DE), was not immediately available for comment.
Algonquin is a subsidiary of Spectra Energy (SE.N). (Reporting by Edward McAllister; Editing by John Picinich)
