DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp Chief Executive Fritz Henderson is set to provide an update on Monday on the struggling automakers restructuring amid Obama administration demands that it move faster and cut deeper.

GM has said it would provide more frequent updates on its restructuring. The briefing by Henderson and other top executives comes amid reports it is poised to shut down its Pontiac brand.

The automaker on Friday described those reports on Pontiac "speculation" and said it was "continuing to review its restructuring plan to go further and faster and best ensure its future success."

GM has been operating under U.S. government emergency loans since the start of the year. The company drew $2 billion of additional aid on Friday, pushing its total to $15.4 billion so far.

The Obama administration rejected a GM viability plan in late March and ousted former CEO Rick Wagoner. The administration gave GM until June 1 to come up with a more comprehensive plan if it wants aid to continue.
