- CONTAINER VOLUME IN TANJUNG PRIOK PORT DROPS 11 PCT IN H1

Total container volume at Indonesia's biggest port, Tanjung Priok, dropped 11 percent to 19.1 million tonnes in the first half from a year ago due to a slowdown in the global economy. Container volumes for exports slipped 2 percent to 2.68 million tonnes in the same period, while shipped-in container volumes fell 17.6 percent to 6.16 million tonnes.

Unlisted state lender PT Bank Ekspor Indonesia will borrow $210 million from a syndicate of domestic and foreign banks, raising funds to finance exports.
