NEW YORK, July 17 (Reuters) - Total Petrochemicals USA will be restarting Unit 817 at its 232,000 barrel-per-day Port Arthur, Texas refinery on Friday, according to a notice filed with Texas environmental regulators.

The restart is expected to last 24 hours, according to the notice filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The filing only identified the unit by its number, but one trading source said Unit 817 is believed to be a sulfur unit.

In an earlier filing, Total said it was restarting on Thursday Unit 810 at the Port Arthur refinery. Unit 810 has been previously identified as one that processes gasoline that did not meet specifications after initial production. (Reporting by Haitham Haddadin; Editing by John Picinich)
