KIEV (Reuters) - Ukraine would like the United States to help finance the modernisation of its gas transit network, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said on Tuesday during U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's visit to Kiev.

"We would like to use as many international creditors including the United States in this regard," he said, referring to the planned revamp of its gas transport systems, which he called "an integral part of the European gas market."
