HELSINKI, July 24 (Reuters) - Top cellphone maker Nokia (NOK1V.HE) said on Friday it would buy German mobile software firm Cellity AG, but did not disclose the value of the deal.

"Nokia will acquire the Cellity team to strengthen its competencies in the area of social networking," it said in a statement, adding the deal, expected to close in the third quarter, included Cellity's 14 employees moving to Nokia.
