Palm shares traded in Franfurt PALM.F jump 13 percent on Tuesday, helped by market talk that Nokia's (NOK1V.HE) is interested in the smaller U.S. cellphone maker, traders say.

Nokia shares are 0.2 percent softer by 1135 GMT, underperforming 0.5 percent firmer DJ Stoxx European technology shares index .SX8P.

A Nokia spokeswoman declines to comment on the rumour.

Analysts say Nokia could be interested in Palm's strong position in the North American market, but see the bid as unlikely. Shares of Palm Inc PALM.O closed sharply higher in the U.S. on Monday after a late afternoon spike as investors anticipated a successful secondary stock offering, one analyst said.
