SocGen staff unions call for strike in November
PARIS |
PARIS Oct 30 (Reuters) - Trade unions representing Societe Generale (SOGN.PA) staff called on its members to go on a 24-hour strike on November 24 due to a dispute over pay at the French bank.
In a statement issued on Friday, SocGen unions criticised the bank's management for focusing on their own salaries and a "few big bonus payouts."
The unions added that they were angered by the fact that management had told staff to "tighten their belts" while SocGen this week managed to raise 4.8 billion euros ($7.1 billion) in a rights issue to reimburse an aid package from the French state.
A SocGen spokeswoman declined to comment on the situation. ($1=.6746 Euro)
