(Reuters) - An Afghan policeman shot dead five British soldiers at a checkpoint in southern Afghanistan Tuesday, the Ministry of Defence said.

Here are figures for foreign military deaths as a result of violence or accidents in Afghanistan since the U.S.-led invasion in 2001:
