KAILUA, Hawaii Dec 28 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Monday the United States stood with protesters in Iran whose bid for justice had been met with the "iron fist of brutality" by Tehran.

"The United States joins with the international community in strongly condemning the violent and unjust suppression of innocent Iranian citizens," Obama said in Hawaii, where he is on vacation. "What is talking place within Iran is not about the United States or any other country. It is about the Iranian people and their aspirations for justice."
