NEW YORK Dec 28 (Reuters) - Shares in U.S.-traded airlines fell in premarket trade on Monday following a security alert on Friday when a man with alleged ties to militants smuggled explosives aboard a trans-Atlantic flight and attempted to blow it up. [ID:nN27159021]

Shares in American Airlines parent company AMR Corp AMR.N fell 2.5 percent to $7.94, Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N) shares lost 2.6 percent to $11.46, US Airways Group Inc (LCC.N) shares dropped 2.8 percent to $5.23, while United Airlines parent UAL CORP UAUA.O shares fell 2.2 percent to $12.80.
