Obama backs Internet freedom in China - W.House

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama backs the right to Internet freedom in China, the White House said on Wednesday, after Google threatened to quit China over censorship and hacking concerns.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Google had briefed the Obama administration prior to its China announcement.
