LONDON, March 10 (Reuters) - The Bank of England's trade-weighted sterling index fell to a fresh 11-month low on Wednesday in the wake of data showing an unexpected fall in British manufacturing output in January.

The index fell 0.5 percent to 76.4 =GBP, the lowest since late March 2009, according to BoE data.

British manufacturing output fell at its sharpest monthly rate since last August, reversing December's strong rise after icy weather in January dented production, official data showed on Wednesday. [ID:nLDE6290Y0] (Reporting by Ian Chua)
