COPENHAGEN, March 16 (Reuters) - Denmark's Vestas (VWS.CO), the world's biggest maker of wind turbines, has won orders in France and the Dominican Republic for turbines with combined capacity of 67 megawatts, the company said on Tuesday.
The French order was for 21 units of Vestas' V90-2.0 MW turbine, and the order from the Dominican Republic was for 14 of its V90-1.8 MW turbine for the Parque Eolico Los Cocos project, Vestas Wind Systems A/S said in separate statements.
The French deliveries to a European energy company, which Vestas did not identify, will begin in the third quarter of this year, it said.
Delivery of turbines to the Dominican Republic's biggest power producer, Electricity Generating Company Haina, SA (EGE Haina), is scheduled to begin in December and be completed during the second quarter of 2011.
Vestas did not give financial details. (Editing by Will Waterman)
