RBC CAPITAL MARKETS
The corporate and investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada (RY.TO)(RY.N) has hired Sam Hill as a director and Sterling Fixed Income strategist. Hill will be based in London.
MORGAN STANLEY (MS.N)
The wealth manager said Pieter Van Der Schaft has joined its Fixed Income Research team as an executive director based in Hong Kong. He joined the firm on May 17.
CIT (CIT.N)
Commercial lender CIT Group Inc has hired Nelson Chai, previously at Merrill Lynch & Co Inc, as chief administrative officer and head of strategy. It also hired Robert Rowe, previously at FirstMerit Bank, as chief credit officer. [ID:nN01224136]
NORDEA (NDA.ST)
Nordea, the Nordic region's biggest bank by value, appointed Casper von Koskull to head its corporate merchant banking and capital markets operations. The bank also said Chief Risk Officer Carl-Johan Granvik would retire by the end of this year. He will be replaced by Ari Kaperi, currently head of Nordea's Institutional & International Banking unit. [ID:nLDE6501OI]
BAIRD
Baird Private Wealth Management has hired four advisers from UBS Wealth Management Americas, including the Swiss company's Milwaukee branch manager. Paul Westphal, John Ethington, Dan Gilipsky and Tyler Briggs joined Baird's Milwaukee office on Friday, according to FINRA filings. This is Baird's largest wealth management office and now has 60 advisers, according to the company.
FIDELITY NATIONAL FINANCIAL (FNF.N)
Insurer Fidelity National Financial said it appointed George Scanlon as its chief operating officer. Scanlon was previously corporate executive vice president of finance at Fidelity National Information Services. (FIS.N)
UNICREDIT SPA (CRDI.MI)
The biggest bank in Italy said Stephanie Kraus, Thomas Kramer and Dominik Klunder have joined its Financial Institutions Group, effective immediately.
AXA INVESTMENT MANAGERS
The asset management company, a part of the AXA Group (AXAF.PA), appointed Nick Hayes as a portfolio manager in AXA Fixed Income. Hayes will will start the newly created role on June 7.
VONTOBEL GROUP (VONN.S)
The Swiss private bank said Peter Romanzina will take over as the new head of its brokerage business on Sept. 1, 2010.
MANAGING PARTNERS LTD
