Europe shares extend gains after HSBC results

LONDON Aug 2 (Reuters) - European shares extended gains on Monday morning, with banks higher after HSBC (HSBA.L) and BNP Paribas (BNPP.PA) beat forecasts with their results.

At 0827 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of top European shares was up 1.9 percent at 1,063.14 points, the high for the day.

HSBC and BNP were up 4.8 and 3.8 percent respectively.

Other banks to gain included Barclays (BARC.L), Lloyds (LLOY.L) and Societe Generale (SOGN.PA), up between 3.8 and 4.8 percent. (Reporting by Brian Gorman)
