Shares in Danish brewer Carlsberg (CARLb.CO) rise 3.7 percent in brisk volume, hitting a level not seen since October 2007 after posting strong results, helped by growth in Asia and recovery in its important East European markets.

"They're seeing quite positive signals from markets such as Russia, which is key for the company," a London-based trader says.

After two hours of trading, the volume on Carlsberg shares represents 125 percent of the stock's 90-day average daily volume.
