NAPIER, New Zealand, March 23 (Reuters) - Stephen Fleming and Jamie How gave New Zealand a bright start to their reply after debutant Tim Southee captured five wickets to dismiss England for 253 before lunch on the second day of the third test.

Fleming was 56 not out, his 45th test half century, with How on 30 and New Zealand on 93 for one after their reply began poorly with Matthew Bell dismissed for a duck off the third ball of the innings.

Earlier, teenage paceman Southee claimed a victim with the first ball of the day and completed a five-wicket haul.

Southee, 19, who took three wickets on Saturday, had Broad caught behind by wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum for 42 before Chris Martin bowled Monty Panesar for one to leave England 253 for nine.  Continued...
