ATHENS, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Olympiakos Piraeus went back to the top of the Greek Super League with a 1-0 win over bottom club Ergotelis on Saturday.
Olympiakos, who host Chelsea in a Champions League first knockout round first-leg tie on Tuesday, were made to work hard for the points.
The only goal came in the 28th minute when Predrag Djordjevic scored on the rebound after his penalty was saved by goalkeeper Iosef Daskalakis.
Darko Kovacevic missed a chance to make it 2-0 for the hosts when he headed over from close range and Olympiakos were left defending at the end.
Olympiakos have 47 points from 20 games, one point ahead of Panathinaikos who visit Atromitos Athinon on Sunday.
Third-placed AEK Athens, who dismissed coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer in midweek, are a further four points back.
In the other game played on Saturday, Larissa improved their chances of playing UEFA Cup football again next season with a 1-0 home win over Panionios.
Turkey midfielder Tumer Metin settled the issue with his first goal of the season in the 85th minute.
