Tennis-Spain takes 1-0 lead over Peru in Davis Cup
LIMA, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Debutant Nicolas Almagro blew past Peru's Matias Silva to give Spain a 1-0 advantage on the opening day of their Davis Cup world group first round tie on Friday.
The 22-year-old Spaniard beat Matias Silva 6-3 7-5 6-0 in 105 minutes.
"It was a physical and mental battle," Almagro said after the match. "I think I was serving very well."
Silva was a late replacement for his country's top player Luis Horna, who suffered a last-minute injury.
