Soccer-Twente thrash Breda 5-1 to reach Dutch playoff final
AMSTERDAM, May 3 (Reuters) - Twente Enschede cruised to a 5-1 victory at 10-man NAC Breda on Saturday to reach the playoff final for a Champions League place by 8-1 on aggregate.
Stein Huysegems scored the first of his two goals for Twente with a well-placed shot seven minutes into the second half but two minutes later Csaba Feher notched Breda's equaliser.
Seconds later Romano Denneboom set up Blaise N'Kufo to restore Twente's lead before Breda's Victor Sikora was shown a red card after kicking goalkeeper Sander Boschker.
Referee Roelof Luinge then postponed the match for 10 minutes after insulting chants from the home crowd.
After the delay Youssouf Hersi, Huysegems again and Edson Braafheid completed the rout for Twente, who beat Breda 3-0 in the playoff semi-final first leg on Tuesday.
Twente face Ajax Amsterdam or Heerenveen in the playoff final for a spot in the Champions League third qualifying round.
Ajax won the first leg 2-1 on Thursday and host Heerenveen in the return on Monday. Breda will play the losers of that match for a place in the first round of the UEFA Cup.
