Soccer-Officials demand two year ban for Sampdoria's Flachi
MILAN, May 3 (Reuters) - Anti-doping officials in Italy asked on Thursday for Sampdoria forward Francesco Flachi to be banned for two years for failing a drugs test in January.
Flachi, 32, tested positive for a metabolite of cocaine after a Serie A game with Inter Milan.
CONI, Italy's Olympic Committee which also oversees doping in all sport, said on its Web site (www.coni.it) that a two year ban was being sought and that it had referred the matter to the Italian soccer federation (FIGC).
If a two-year ban is agreed it would almost certainly signal the end of Flachi's career.
