Soccer-Primera Liga match suspended after keeper hit by bottle
MADRID, March 15 (Reuters) - The Primera Liga match between Real Betis and Athletic Bilbao was suspended during the second half on Saturday after Bilbao goalkeeper Armando was struck in the face by a bottle thrown by a fan.
Bilbao were winning 2-1 at Betis's Manuel Ruiz de Lopera stadium when a fan behind the goal threw what looked like a plastic bottle full of liquid at Armando, as he went to get a ball for a goalkick.
The keeper was treated on the pitch and then taken off on a stretcher and the referee suspended the game with about 18 minutes left to play.
Stadium officials apprehended the person who threw the bottle.
