Briefs-Platini critical of Milan owner Berlusconi's remarks
MILAN, April 26 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world:
Soccer-UEFA president Michel Platini has criticised Silvio Berlusconi after the AC Milan owner and Italian Prime Minister said this week the country's big clubs should not have to play in the same league as smaller provincial teams.
"I was surprised a premier could propose an idea of the sort," the former Juventus and France playmaker told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "He should be the president of everyone and not of a limited group of teams.
"UEFA has been categorical in the past (on this). Sporting values must count in football, not economic parameters or fan base."
Soccer-AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti said Italy midfielder Gennaro Gattuso would be staying at the club whether he liked it or not.
Italian media have reported Gattuso is considering leaving the seven-times European champions but Ancelotti told the club's Web site (www.acmilan.com): "Gattuso cannot be sold. He'll stay at Milan, willingly or unwillingly".
