Boeing to buy interest in Global Aeronautica
CHICAGO (Reuters) - Boeing Co (BA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on Friday said it has agreed to buy Vought Aircraft Industries' interest in Global Aeronautica LLC, a South Carolina fuselage subassembly facility for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, for an undisclosed price.
On completion of the deal, Global Aeronautica would be a 50-50 joint venture between Boeing and Alenia North America, which is a unit of Italy's Alenia Aeronautica, the company said. Alenia is part of Finmeccanica SpA (SIFI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research). Boeing said the transaction would not affect its current financial outlook.
