Chile central bank again weighed rate cut in August as economy slows

SANTIAGO, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Chile's central bank again considered cutting its key rate in August, as the export-dependent nation's economy slows and investment cools, the minutes of its August monetary policy meeting showed on Thursday.

Even so, all five members of the bank's governing board voted on August 13 to keep the rate steady at 5 percent, where it has been held since a surprise cut in January 2012.
