Wow, could we have him IQ tested please? Or at least place a mirror under his nose.

Can he explain why he thinks it is BoE’s business to determine interest rates for us?

Can he explain how his banking system would operate if we were to have 0% GDP growth for 100 years?

I suggest he cannot. Ask him about Government deficit spending and charging interest rates on money that doesn’t exist until borrowed.

Sorry, I forget. The system only works if no-one challenges it. This includes the media whose job it is to question everything.

Anyway, let him be the Man. A man of reasonable intelligence and good conscience would not accept the position. Tucker probably wants it.

Best of luck.

What makes me smile is that soon the BoE will be the regulator for the Financial Sector. (How is that supposed to work?)

I predict in a years time the new BoE Governor will be questioned by the Treasury Select Committee. The Governor will respond to each question by asking for more authority and more control.

Ad infinitum?
