Horse meat is actually better than cow meat (beef) as it does not carry tuberculosis strains. This is the reason why horse meat and milk was so popular on the Continent. Horse milk was reserved for infants.

Horses are no more special than other animals and their flesh is much more pleasant than dog meat.
