Pope reaffirms ban on women priests, assails disobedience

Here in the thirteenth century, we keep women in their place. When’s the next stake burning?

Rather than being so concerned by challenges to his papal authority perhaps the pope should concentrate on the teachings of Christ…which Christ summed up in two laws.
1. Love God
2. Love your fellow man.

The main problems in this world have little to do with celibacy and women priest. They are about man being unkind to other men.

This is the same pope who, along with the Repub party is behind the WAR ON WOMEN, Iincluding making it difficult or impposible to get birth control pills.. His pals in the Repub party eg in AZ, they almost passed a law there which would require women to get a letter from a doc that stated the reason for the birth control pills was not related to birth control. A similar law is pending in WI and some other states.

Same problem with teaching sex ed in schools. Try Mississippi, which has only abstinence only education. And the highest rate of illegitimate children and botched back alley abortions.

The catholic church under Benedict is like some apparition from the early 1900s, when birth control, eg even condoms were illegal.

Join the 3rd largest religion in the USA – ex catholics, like us.

And protect your children from their predator priests as well.

Its back to the dark ages for women. Keep them pregnant and in the kitchen.

Keep them brainwashed and 3rd class citizens in the church. Essentially all but free labor.

BTW the church supports life, but not a word about supporting medical care for all.

There was btw some congressional hearing recently about birth control. the panel consisted of 2 priests and 3 other MEN.

This just amazes me.
The Catholic church enjoys a tax free status in the United States. Receives a ton of taxpayer funding. Attempts to push for all Americans being held to their faith based restrictions by flexing its political influence over politicians.
The actively and openly practices gender based descrimination.. which supposedly is illegal in America.
Just ask the Mormons about descriminationary practices and government reaction. They were being ousted from Utah for not allowing blacks to hold the priesthood. Then again, I don’t believe women are yet allowed.
Food for thought.. just how much actual good are they actually doing for this country?
I, for one, am seriously beginning to believe that no organized or unorganized faith should have any more than a family level influence in this country. We do need a secular government to protect the rights of those who the churchs would hold allow a far lower standard of freedoms.

But it does raise the question – was Jesus gay? Of course the church would never admit it, especially as it appears to hate gay people being treated as equals in our society.

Where i come from we solve problesm with vicious rotweillers very quickly.

But I’d be satisfied if the catholic people just all left the church like is happening in Ireland, and let the old boy bark in the back yard.
