RBC CAPITAL MARKETS

RBC Capital Markets, the investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada (RY.N: Quote, Profile, Research) announced on Tuesday the appointment of Michael Burmin be co-head of its Housing Finance group and serve as managing director. Burmin was previously with the housing group of UBS AG (UBSN.VX: Quote, Profile, Research).

It also appointed Peter Nolden managing director of its Municipal Finance Housing Capital group, Derek McGreal and Mina Choos as directors, and Lorry Palacios as vice president of the unit.

JEFFRIES & COMPANY, INC (JEF.N: Quote, Profile, Research)

The investment bank has hired Robert L. Harteveldt as chairman of fixed income and member of its executive committee. Harteveldt was previously at Bear Stearns where he spent 24 years, most recently as Head of High Yield, Distressed and Loan Sales.

WACHOVIA WEALTH MANAGEMENT

Wachovia Wealth Management, a unit of Wachovia Corp (WB.N: Quote, Profile, Research) hired Dr. Susan Massenzio, a psychologist with two decades of experience in the financial services industry, as associate director of its Family Dynamics unit, where she will work with wealthy investors.
