Blyth posts fourth-quarter loss on charges
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Candle maker Blyth Inc (BTH.N: Quote, Profile, Research) posted a fourth-quarter net loss on Friday, versus a year-ago profit, hurt by one-time charges and the loss of sales from the divestiture of its home fragrance business.
Blyth, which operates the PartyLite direct-selling candle business, reported a net loss of $10.4 million, or 28 cents per share, in the quarter, which ended Jan. 31, versus a profit of $17.0 million, or 43 cents per share, a year ago.
Excluding items the company said it earned 89 cents per share.
