JERUSALEM, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said on Monday a peace accord with the Palestinians was "far away, on a path full of obstacles".

"There is no agreement," Olmert told Israeli lawmakers of his talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ahead of next month U.S.-sponsored conference on Palestinian statehood. "Nothing was given, nothing was taken and nothing was promised. But a spirit of mutual trust has been created."
