Briefs 2-Phillips named in British Olympic eventing team
May 10 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world:
Equestrian - Zara Phillips, a grand-daughter of Queen Elizabeth, has been named in the British three-day eventing squad for the Beijing Olympics in August.
Phillips, 27 later this month, was world champion in 2006 and European champion in 2005. She will ride Toytown at her first Olympics where she will be part of a five-strong British squad.
"I am lucky in that Toytown has been to championship events before, so he knows about big occasions and has been consistent, but an Olympic Games really is special," Phillips said in a statement. "I am delighted for Toytown as he really deserves it."
Soccer - Police in the western Romania city of Cluj have arrested three men who attacked a police cameraman during violence which marred the final league match of the domestic season between CFR Cluj and Universitatea Cluj on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said one of the three attackers struck the cameraman on the head with a stone while the other two kicked the policeman after he fell to the ground.
If convicted, the three teenaged attackers could be jailed for up to 12 years on charges of attempted murder.
Soccer - Australia's Olympic captain Mark Milligan has been cleared to join his team mates on their upcoming tour of Malaysia after having a lengthy suspension reduced.
Milligan had been ruled out of the tournament after he was banned for five matches for failing to attend a training session in Queensland so he could trial with English Premier League club Arsenal. Continued...
