Feb 12 (Reuters) - Aftermarket Technology Corp (ATAC.O: Quote, Profile, Research), a provider of engineering and logistics services to the light and heavy-duty vehicle aftermarket, reported a one cent drop in quarterly profit even as sales rose 5.5 percent on strong performance at its logistics segment. Net income for the fourth-quarter was flat at $9.1 million over the year-ago quarter, while per-share earnings fell to 41 cents a share from 42 cents.

Net sales rose to $134.6 million from $127.6 million last year, driven by strong volumes from a one-time automotive electronics upgrade program at its logistics segment.

Analysts on average were expecting earnings of 40 cents a share, before special items, on revenue of $133 million, according to Reuters Estimates.

The company forecast 2008 earnings from continuing operations of $1.60 to $2.00 a share and revenue of $550 million to $625 million as it cuts costs to drive margins at both the segments.

Analysts were expecting 2008 earnings of $2.09 a share and revenue of $581.9 million.

Shares of the company fell 9.9 percent to $23.08 in trading after the bell, after closing at $25.63 on the Nasdaq. (Reporting by Anant Vijay Kala in Bangalore; Editing Anupama Dwivedi)
