Bronfman agrees to settle Vivendi suit-filing
NEW YORK, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Warner Music Group (WMG.N: Quote, Profile, Research) Chief Executive Edgar Bronfman has agreed to settle a case he filed against his former employer Vivendi (VIV.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) over pension payments, according to a court document on Tuesday.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The parties expect to formalize the agreement within the next 30 days, Bronfman's lawyer, Charles Michael, said in a letter to U.S. District Judge George Daniels in Manhattan.
Bronfman was executive vice chairman of the French telecom and media conglomerate following its acquisition of Seagram -- his family business -- in 2000.
He began drawing a pension from Vivendi after resigning in 2002, according to the complaint filed in April.
Vivendi informed him in 2006 that it had made a mistake and had erroneously credited him for 15 years of "additional service," Bronfman said in his complaint.
Vivendi could not be reached immediately for comment, while Bronfman's lawyer declined to comment. (Reporting by Paritosh Bansal and Yinka Adegoke)
