KBR wins $70 mln arbitration award against Pemex

HOUSTON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - U.S. engineering and construction firm KBR Inc (KBR.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on Monday said an arbitration panel awarded it more than $70 million in a dispute with Mexican state oil company Pemex, according to a regulatory filing.

KBR had sought "...payment for additional costs in a design and construction project that was completed in 2002, according to the filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commisssion.

The Houston company said it is also waiting for the results from another arbitration proceeding that involves Pemex, the filing said.

Shares of KBR closed up 2.4 percent, or 73 cents, at $30.84 on the the New York Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Anna Driver, editing by Leslie Gevirtz)
