Mexico's Homex 1st-qtr net profit rises 7.9 pct

MEXICO CITY, April 23 (Reuters) - Mexican homebuilder Homex (HXM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) (HOMEX.MX: Quote, Profile, Research) posted a 7.9 percent increase in first-quarter net profit on higher sales.

Homex said on Wednesday its January-March net profit was 504 million pesos ($47 million).

Homex's revenue increased 18.6 percent in the first quarter to 3.481 billion pesos.
