LG Display says H2 outlook softer than expected
SEOUL, July 9 (Reuters) - Flat screen maker LG Display Co Ltd (034220.KS: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday the industry's outlook for the second half was softer than expected and panel prices are expected to continue falling in July and August.
"We had initially expected the market will enter an oversupply and see prices falling after the third quarter. Now there are signs that this downturn would come a bit earlier than expected," said Chief Financial Officer James Jeong.
"The demand will be soft in July and August and panel prices will continue to fall. There may be a balance or a slight supply shortage from September to early November." (Reporting by Rhee So-eui; Editing by Keiron Henderson)
