Before the Bell-Circuit City shares rise 9.4 percent

NEW YORK, May 9 (Reuters) - Shares of Circuit City Stores Inc (CC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) rose before the opening bell on Friday after the electronics retailer said it reached a due diligence agreement with Blockbuster Inc (BBI.N: Quote, Profile, Research), the movie rental chain which is seeking to acquire Circuit City.

Shares of Circuit City were up 9.4 percent at $5.24 (Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
