After the Bell-Applied Materials shares rise

NEW YORK, May 13 (Reuters) - Shares of microchip equipment maker Applied Materials Inc (AMAT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) gained 2.2 percent to $20.29 after the bell on Tuesday.
