After the Bell-Applied Materials shares rise
NEW YORK, May 13 (Reuters) - Shares of microchip equipment maker Applied Materials Inc (AMAT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) gained 2.2 percent to $20.29 after the bell on Tuesday. Excluding acquisition charges, restructuring and asset impairments, it earned 24 cents per share, beating the average analyst forecast of 22 cents. For details, see [ID:nN13428320]
