NEW YORK, May 16 (Reuters) - Shares of Genentech Inc (DNA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) jumped more than 2 percent to $70.25 before the bell on Friday following news that results from a mid-stage trial showed treatment with Genentech's Avastin improved survival for patients with recurring brain cancer.
